In life, We always faced with the ups and downs. Sometimes, it’s not the big ups and downs that killed us. It’s those daily little things that stuck up in our mind and sucked up our energy day by day that killed us. “A New Earth” by Eckhart is a book that focus on recognizing your inner wisdom from your ego mind and find inner peace. So that in the journey of life, We can be genuinely happy with the ups and downs as well as the daily errands.
- “The more you make your thoughts (beliefs) into your identity, the more cut off you are from the spiritual dimension within yourself.”
Have you ever had that feeling where your mind is so lost that you don’t remember what you just ate this morning or what you have to do next? And after a full day of work and running around, you felt empty and disconnect with yourself. That’s what disconnect with your true self and focus on your ego mind are.
Thoughts like “ I belonged to certain class because I wore designer’s clothing” or “ People must think of me as that bitch because I act like that.” or “ How dare she talked to me like this? So disrespectful.”
Sounds familiar? The more you put meaning to those thoughts, the more you felt disconnect and empty. So start by recognizing those little noise in your head and refocus to your own present.
- “Anything that you resent and strongly react to in another is also in you.”
Think about someone you don’t like or you resist. What is it that you don’t like about they? Is it the way they talked that is offending you? Is it something they have done to you? Is it what they stand for interfere with yours?
Now, imagine you are the person who behave that way. How do you feel? Resent? Hurt? Anger? Depressed? Try to capture that feeling and pointed out which body part you had the strongest feeling. Say “I love you for who you are” to yourself, and mean it. Until you felt you return to peacefulness again.
So what this is all about is that, We resist the qualities of someone else; because we resist it in ourselves to. It could be because of a memory where we once behaved that way, and we got punished. We have put a negative emotions toward that particular memories and action.
You may ask “Okay. I get it. Why change? I like it the way it is. I don’t see a problem for disliking someone?” Well. We don’t (so much) care about others, but We care about you. We want you to be able to heal your own wounds, and make peace of those deep hurted memories. So give it a try. What’s there to lost, right?
- “The longing for love that is in every child is the longing to be recognized, not on the level of form, but on the level of Being.”
I see you for who you truly are. I don’t care about what kind of clothes you wear, what kind of cars you drive or where you live. Because those are not you. I accept completely for who you are, so you are free to behave as you want in front of me. You don’t have to feel fearful to not speak up; You don’t have to feel guilty to please me; You don’t have to feel angry to win over me. I see you and I accept you.
Isn’t that the most touching and heartfelt words you can hear from your loved one?
You know what I am going to say. You can’t change others, but you can change yourself. Start from treating your loved one, friends and family the way of fully acceptance. And while you are doing this, make sure you are also fully accepting of yourself.
